- The backpack measures 480 x 200 x 200 mm ( ~19 x 8 x 8 inches ) and has two compartments and two side pockets.
- You will need four buckles with a at least 30 mm wide inner gauge and a zipper at least 500 mm ( ~20 inches ) in length. I used thicker 3 mm ( 7-8 oz ) leather for this project but you may do as you wish for every part of the backpack except the strap which should be thicker.
- The amount of leather required for this project will be approximately 6-7 square feet ( ~ half a square meter ).
- You may use whatever tool you have at hand for punching out the stitching holes but should you happen to have access to a Craftool 3 mm punching chisel set, it would considerably lower the amount of work as the holes are spaced to suit using such tools. You may google ‘Tandy 88045-6’ for more information. This feature exists for a pattern only if it's mentioned in the description and not for all the other patterns in our store.

💡 The absolute minimum tools you'll need for this project are a cutter ( box opener ), a metal ruler, a mallet, a 2 and a 4 mm punch, two blunt needles and a cutting mat. We use masking tape to prepare the pattern and always sew with 1 mm waxed thread. That's short and sweet but please PM us for more info if you're just starting out.
