This is a leather PDF pattern for crafting a spherical, half red half white, leather candy box as shown in the pictures.
Video tutorial https://youtu.be/VpSZoGsvZmc
- It measures about 10 cm in diameter ( ~ 4 inches ) and it can hold a handful of candy.
- 5-6 oz ( ~ 2 mm ) vegetable tanned leather should work best for this project and you could use scraps to make it.
- We used Fiebing's Red and Black dye and finished with Acrylic Resolene.
- The project is mostly put together using cross stitching so make sure you can reproduce it before buying.
đź’ˇ The absolute minimum tools you'll need for this project are a cutter ( box opener ), a metal ruler, a mallet, a 2 and a 4 mm punch, two blunt needles and a cutting mat. We use masking tape to prepare the pattern and always sew with 1 mm waxed thread. That's short and sweet but please PM us for more info if you're just starting out.
đź’ˇYou may print this pattern at Actual size on any of the following paper types: US Letter, A4-A0, Legal and Ledger / Tabloid by selecting the US_Letter format from your printing options.

I like the pattern but there are a two things that keep me from putting full 5 stars. First, The part that acts as the clasp is off in its proportions so I had to cut the opening wider, as it wouldn't fit/clasp right. Second, the strap that connects the lower half of the pokeball has similar spacing throughout although the stitching on the actual pokeball halves is wider. This basically results in a larger spacing in certain portions which isn't reflected on the strap. For the final product, I feel like I wasn't able to get a similar tightness around the whole edge as I would've if this was reflected. Overall, it's a good pattern but I just feel these things should have been worked out out if I'm paying for a pattern.
